Ex-Odisha volleyball player Rout is no more

Former Odisha volleyball player Chitta Ranjan Rout passed away after losing a battle against jaundice at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar earlier yesterday. He was 52 and survived by his wife, son and two daughters.
An attacking player, Rout represented Odisha in the senior National championship for many years. He was serving in the state Police Department as a Deputy Subedar.
After retiring from competitive volleyball, Rout did a good job as the coach as well as selector of state and police volleyball teams. He also functioned as an executive member of Odisha Volleyball Association and volleyball secretary of Cuttack District Athletic Association.
